"Exploring the Nature of Watercolor"For all of you who have been asking and patiently waiting, my second book, "Exploring The Nature of Watercolor" is at the printers. Copies should be available at the end of January, 2015. Information on ordering is found in the book section of my website. "Exploring the Nature of Watercolor" has over 20 diagrams, more than 100 paintings and over 200 illustrations. Below is an example from Chapter 1. ![]() "Sunset" is a transparent watercolor. ![]() "Old Tree in Lone Grove" is transparent, translucent and opaque watercolor. Most of the background and parts of the tree are transparent. Parts of the trunk and branches are translucent, and the lighter highlights are opaque. ![]() "The Cape" is an opaque watercolor painting. Following chapters include detailed information on color and pigment, angle and plane concepts, pattern, and paper, brushes and tools. Also included are demonstration paintings, step-by-step examples, and a gallery of studio paintings.
